About this Blog

The author

isi Dhamma adopts and attempts to convey in his own way the teachings of the Buddha, because they are free from all belief and superstition, but according to him, they allow those willing to make the effort to reap the greatest fruits and understand everything in depth.

Having lived in many Theravada monasteries, isi Dhamma is nevertheless not affiliated with any tradition. He also remains very open to anything that resonates with the understanding of things: philosophies, sciences, psychology, anthropology, and even near-death experiences and other out-of-body experiences.

Having studied the Buddha's teachings, he prefers to focus on the practice of mindfulness, which he considers essential. Living as an ascetic, he is no longer a bhikkhu (monk of the community established by the Buddha), because in his view, the sangha (the community of monks) has become too corrupt, led by a large majority of closed-minded and arrogant individuals who do not respect even a tenth of what the Buddha taught.

The purpose of the blog

On this blog, the author presents the values of the Buddha's teaching in a lively and original way, based on his own experience. Sometimes blunt and radical, his writings are above all aimed at serious practitioners seeking concrete results, or at those who are discovering this path and sincerely wish to free themselves from their attachments.

This blog is therefore not designed for the general public, who would rather seek embellished teachings whose only purpose is to provide comfortable and poetic nourishment for the mind.

This modern ascetic, born in the early 1970s, places particular importance on:

  • discipline (right and reasonable, not self-totalitarianism)
  • humility (not false modesty, which is only a subtle form of pride)
  • sincerity (which implies deep honesty).

Good to know

isi's monastery
I have the privilege of living on the upper floor of an 1881 house (but well restored) in a small peaceful village surrounded by mountains. It is a monastic space, almost austere but comfortable. If you wish to come for a short retreat, some hikes in nature, and conversations about matters of the mind, contact me! ("Contact" in the menu on the left)

You will have your own monastic cell and healthy food. Quite isolated, the village remains very accessible and is located near Bellinzona, in the canton of Ticino (Italian Switzerland), 99 km from Milan airport. No fees are required; isi Dhamma is only there to help you in your practice of the Dhamma.
dhammadāna.org

The website en.dhammadana.org presents the Buddha's teaching in its original version, in an accessible and in-depth manner, providing all the useful information for putting it into practice.

The little leaf
For those who do not know, the little leaf that allows you to go back to the top of the page is a bodhi leaf, that is, a leaf from the tree under which the Buddha attained Awakening.
